Getting Started with Backd

Backd makes it easy for merchants to offer flexible financing and payment options to their customers.
You can integrate with us in one of two main ways:

1. Integrate Directly with Your E-commerce Website (API Integration)​

If your business already has an online checkout flow, you can seamlessly add Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) as a payment option alongside credit cards, ACH, and other methods.

  • Use our BNPL Widget (SDK) to embed financing directly into your checkout experience.
  • Explore the BNPL API for full server-to-server integration and maximum customization.
  • Prefer a simpler setup? Our Low-Code Redirect Flow gets you started with minimal frontend development.

This approach is ideal for merchants who want more/complete control over their customer’s checkout journey.

2. Use the Merchant Dashboard (No-Code Solution)​

If your team typically interacts with buyers via email or phone rather than through a self-service checkout, our Merchant Dashboard provides a simple, centralized way to manage financing and orders — with no coding required.

From the dashboard, you can:

  • Offer financing options, including BNPL and Net Terms, without technical integration.
  • Track customer application and funding statuses in real time.
  • Create, approve, and manage orders directly from the dashboard.

This option is perfect for merchants who want to provide financing flexibility without any development effort.
